The mission of the Saratoga County Communications Center is, to provide prompt and effective law enforcement and emergency service communications to all agencies and residents of Saratoga County, equally and fairly. Our objective is to make Saratoga County a safe place in which to reside, work, and visit.
We strive to provide this through the dedication of our communications staff, who maintain high standards of service and concern for individuals in need. Even as communications technology evolves, it is still a human voice that first answers the call for help. The measure of our service is judged by the community we serve.
Located in the Main Station of the Sheriff’s Office the Communications Center is the first line of contact and response for the emergency service agencies in Saratoga County. Staffed by 11 Desk Sergeants and 26 Desk Officers and operating 24 hours a day, the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center is responsible for answering 911 calls from both land line and cellular phones and all types of administrative calls for service in Saratoga County and for dispatching appropriate police, fire and EMS service units.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division is accredited by the New York State Sheriffs Association. The accreditation process signifies that our center has been found to be in compliance with accepted public safety communications standards. Accreditation shows the public, as well as the agencies we serve, that we are pursuing a course of excellence in our daily operations.
In April 2019, the Communications Division relocated to a new Communications Center within the Sheriffs Main Station. The center was built with the most advanced equipment available at the time and with future communications in mind. This innovative technology gives the Communications Center the ability to expand and accommodate centralized dispatch for the entire County.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Mobile Command Center
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Mobile Command Center (MCC), obtained through a grant from Homeland Security, consists of a communication room and an incident command staff conference room. The communications center is equipped with a fully integrated P25 trunked radio system, and other types of specialized technical equipment. This radio system allows the MCC to communicate with the Sheriff’s Patrols, New York State Police, all of the County’s Fire and EMS Agencies, several Municipal Police Departments, and the County Highway Department. Computer interfaces allow the MCC to link into the computer systems located at the main Sheriff’s Complex, and access databases via the internet.
The vehicle is self-supportive and available to respond to a variety of situations, such as Homeland Security Incidents, Criminal Investigation support, and to serve as field communications for large scale events within the County. The MCC has been used at a variety of events in our communities. The vehicle has also taken part in Homeland Security trainings and has served as an incident command post during these trainings. The vehicle is currently operated by members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office specifically trained in the operation of the vehicle.
